Casey and I spent all of last weekend with members of his family. A little background, for those of you who don't know his family: Casey has two sisters, Kelly and Heather. Kelly is married to Patrick and has two daughters, Taylor (9) and Amberleigh (4). Heather is married to Doc and has a son, Austin (14); a daughter, Amidy (2); and a son on the way, Anders! We are all anxiously awaiting Anders' birth, which may be any day now!
Kelly and Patrick planned a parents-only cruise for this week, so they asked Casey and me if we'd watch Taylor and Amberleigh while they were gone. We couldn't exactly get them to school and to all their activities during the week, since we work and go to school ourselves, but we volunteered to keep them for the weekend.
Friday night we headed to Priceville to watch Austin play trombone in the Priceville High marching band.
(I have no idea where he is in this picture.)
I totally stole this picture from Heather's Facebook page. That's Austin and Amidy. (Isn't her cheerleading outfit cute?)
After the game we picked Amberleigh up from Kelly and Patrick's. Taylor spent the night with a friend Friday night, so we just had Amberleigh. We took her to our house and got her reacquainted with Luna, who she obsessed over all weekend.
She brought the "shark movie" - which turned out to be Soul Surfer - and we all watched that before bed.
Saturday morning Amberleigh was up bright and early ready to go see her sister's softball game. We drove to Athens and had fun watching Taylor play.
I would like to take this time to point out that, although I have almost zero parenting skills, I can braid hair. Amberleigh is my proof.
After the game we took the girls home and they watched Rio while we took a nap. (This babysitting business is no joke. Uncle Casey and Aunt Laurel needed sleep.) We all went to dinner at Casa Blanca and then had ice cream at Bruster's.
Sunday morning we all went to church, and then we took the girls to their grandmother's to stay the rest of the week.
